About the Artist

Reina (she/they) is a painter and poet from unceded Onondaga land, known otherwise as Syracuse, NY. Her poems are autofictional vignettes and odes to everyday life, love, family, friendship, rituals, devotion, and grief.

Their paintings and drawings are derived from snapshot photos and accompany the poetry as an interchangeable series. Reina is an MFA candidate from the School of the Art Institute Chicago’s Low-Residency program (2023)
